About Kitchen Table Sums.

Money talks happen at the kitchen table. Bills spread out, a laptop open, someone asking where the pay went.

Most Aussies are paid fortnightly, but most budget templates assume monthly. Side hustles and ABNs bring a tax bill nobody warned you about. And the shoebox of rental receipts only gets bigger.

So we build spreadsheets that do the sums. Each one comes filled in with a made-up example, so you see it working before you type a thing, plus a Start Here tab and a setup video.

Who's behind it

Kitchen Table Sums is a small Australian business run by Jaiden, a sole trader (ABN 15 436 839 270). No photos, no fuss, just sheets that work.

Meet Tally

Tally is our magpie. He's dry, a bit bossy, and he'll point at the one number you should look at. If he says "Swoop alert", a bill is about to land.

Our kitchen table rules

  • We link to free official help first: the ATO, Moneysmart and the National Debt Helpline.
  • We never take commissions or referral fees.
  • We update the tax sheets every financial year.
  • We say when we got something wrong, on our corrections page.
  • We show every review, good or bad.

What we're not

We're not a tax agent, not a financial adviser and not your bank. Our sheets and guides are general information. Read the disclaimer.
